The above text taken from WWW.M-W.COM ( websters dictionary (tm)) describes the act of a rush as :

To Decieve, Repel and to take flight. This relates very much to our current society. You can be pretty sure that those rushing at the moment are doing so because they believe that to do so is the only way. One only has to stand back and see the speed at which people go to work in the morning. Often brushing past others with no projection of sorrow. A deep depressing view of the need to get to work is encapsulated into every work each and everyday. Those who realise that there really IS NO RUSH. finds that the act of NOT RUSHING. often gets more things done.

This is a very important lesson that I have learnt in project management.

IF YOU STRIVE TO ACHIEVE A TASK IN LESS TIME THEN IS POSSIBLE. YOU WILL FAIL.

The anxiety created by rushing is due to the fact that you body is saying "I can't do this". The rushing ignores the statement and overrides it with a brush of importance.

Remember 60 million years of evolution and we are here now.
